SUGAR HILL, NH, June 23, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Meg Brown, Owner/Photographer of MegaBug Photography, LLC, has been recognized as a Distinguished Professional in her field through Women of Distinction Magazine. Meg Brown will be featured in an upcoming edition of the Women of Distinction Magazine in 2016.
Established in October 2013 when she was 18-years-old, Meg Brown, Owner and Photographer of MegaBug Photography, LLC in Sugar Hill, New Hampshire is paving the way to a very bright future through her business pursuits. As a one-woman operation, she not only takes pictures, but is also responsible for daily tasks such as editing photos, recording financials, executing and maintaining her marketing plan, updating her website, and handling a variety of other functions.
"In order to be a successful entrepreneur, I've discovered that you have to love the business side just as much as you love what you're in business for," Brown said. "There are some days I love the business aspect even more."
Falling in love with photography when she was 11 when on a trip to the Grand Canyon, Brown remembers just how much she enjoyed capturing its beauty through a lens. In high school, she pursued a film photography class and interned with a local wedding photographer where she learned the small business side of photography, and kept her options open by studying journalism in college. After interning with the Littleton Courier as a high school senior, she was awarded the Loeb Educational Grant from the Union Leader, New Hampshire's largest newspaper.
On the success of her business today, Brown commented, "Customer service is just as important to me as the quality of my photos. From this approach, I am able to slow down and take time with each client, understanding their needs and wants and customizing their shoot to generate the perfect images. I always send thank you notes and write down birthdays, anniversaries, job titles, hobbies, and milestones so when a client comes back I can ask specific questions. I love being personable."
MegaBug Photography offers a variety of services, including wedding and bridal shoots, portraits to capture that special moment, and a variety of business photos, such as professional headshots, product, and interiors. Brown also sells fine art prints that she has taken in nature and other settings and even offers educational courses through the Littleton Studio School so others can improve their own photography skills.
Aspiring to hone her skills as a well-established entrepreneur/photographer, Brown has high expectations of herself. She's motivated, confident, and talented, and she is constantly working to improve herself both as an entrepreneur and as an artist. Looking to the future, Brown revealed that she would love to shift to the editorial and photojournalistic side of photography. For now, however, she is content with where she is.
"Photography is such a highly saturated market that it can be discouraging to stick with, but I've been able to turn this competition into inspiration," she explained. "I'm always striving to be better and to do better, which I wouldn't push as hard for if the market wasn't so competitive. The idea of leaving an impact through my photographs is what keeps me going."
