Herrman & Herrman Announces 2nd Annual Innovation Scholarship Essay Contest

    CORPUS CHRISTI, TX, June 23, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The law firm of Herrman & Herrman, P.L.L.C. is pleased to sponsor the 2nd annual Innovation Scholarship Essay Contest with $5,000 in prizes to help students cover college expenses and raise awareness of the effects of social media on the driving experience.

The Innovation Scholarships provide financial assistance to help pay college-related expenses. Students are invited to compete for the scholarships by writing original 600-word essays describing how social media poses a distraction when driving and affects the safety of roads and highways. The three scholarship recipients will receive checks in the amounts of $2,500, $1,500 and $1,000.

The attorneys at Herrman & Herrman believe that obtaining a college education is the best way for young people in South Texas and throughout the United States to find good jobs and rewarding careers, particularly in this age of technological innovation. We want to provide financial assistance to help young people defray some of their college expenses and bring more awareness of the issue of distracted driving.

Many people rely on social media such as Facebook and Snapchat to communicate. But using social media while behind the wheel creates a dangerous distraction and poses a safety hazard to everyone on the road.

The essay contest is open to high school juniors and seniors and students currently enrolled in 2-year and 4-year colleges, universities and technical colleges in the United States.
