VOLGOGRAD, RUSSIA, July 06, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- ReclaiMe Data Recovery Company, a leading global provider of data recovery solutions for various storage devices from a single hard drive to multi-disk systems, today announces the official release of ReclaiMe Pro version 928, the company's flagship toolkit. The new ReclaiMe Pro release expands the list of supported multi-disk devices thus allowing data recovery experts to extract even more data.
A new type of multi-disk devices, HP EVA storage, has been added to the impressive list of supported storage devices. HP EVA storage is an enterprise-level storage from the Hewlett-Packard Company featuring the vRAID technology allowing to create both fixed and thinly provisioned storage arrays with a virtualized architecture.
"Although our piggy bank includes data recovery algorithms for dozens storage devices, they are mainly home or small enterprise level devices. Offering a data recovery solution for HP EVA storage, an enterprise level storage, we move to the next level." - says Elena Pakhomova, CEO of ReclaiMe Company. "Hope this new capability of ReclaiMe Pro allows our clients, data recovery technicians, expand the list of services they offer."
The vRAID technology used in HP EVA storage significantly differs from a traditional RAID implementation. Although the technology uses the same stripe, mirror, and parity techniques as a traditional RAID, however the final implementation differs significantly. In this respect, a vRAID storage is more like a MS Storage Spaces pool rather than a traditional RAID array.
Another specific you have to deal with when recovering data from such storage devices is a considerable number of disks involved in the recovery. If in case of a home level multi-disk storage, you typically deal with 4-6 disks, the smallest HP EVA unit has 8 disks and in practice much more disks are used. Due to the vRAID technology specifics, data is evenly distributed over all disks thus requiring simultaneous scanning and processing data from all disks in case of a data recovery event. This in turn brings to the fore a problem of simultaneous connection of such a large number of disks and performance in terms of speed of recovery.
One of the most difficult to determine parameters for the vRAID configuration is a disk order. It is impossible to solve the task by a simple search of all possible combinations because even with 20 disks you have about 10^18 possibilities. Thus, the vRAID configuration recovery task is far from trivial. Nevertheless, we have developed algorithms allowing to recover data from lost HP EVA LUNs in a reasonable time and with acceptable quality.
As of now, ReclaiMe Pro is capable of recovering data from HP EVA P6000 series.
For over 10 years, ReclaiMe Data Recovery Company has been developing data recovery algorithms used both by home users worldwide and data recovery technicians globally to extract all the data possible. Whether you have a single disk or a complex multi-disk storage like NAS, ReclaiMe provides data recovery solution for your case; the company piggy bank includes data recovery algorithms for RAIDs of different types, including proprietary layouts like Drobo BeyondRAID and HP vRAID, MS Storage Spaces, and a wide range of filesystems from Microsoft, Linux, MacOS, and others.
