Animal Welfare Group Unveils Unique Way To Save Shelter Dogs And Cats

    THOUSAND OAKS, CA, July 07, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- While thousands of dogs and cats are euthanized every month due to overcrowding in animal shelters, other facilities are running at less than capacity.

Animal welfare group "SaveARescue.org" has helped save 800+ dogs and cats since being launched by Beverly Gun-Munro 10 months ago. Part of their solution is to simply move animals from overcrowded "high kill" facilities to "no kill" rescues and sanctuaries that have space to spare.

"Transporting dogs and cats from "high kill" to "no kill" facilities is a powerful solution," Ms. Gun-Munro said. "Every transport saves 2 lives. It saves the life of the one transported from "death's door" as well as leaving a space behind for an incoming pet. It's a double win."

On July 5th, 2016, Ms. Gun-Munro launched a crowdsourcing campaign on crowdrise.com to raise funds to purchase and operate 2 air-conditioned vans. The vans will be used to move dogs and cats from "high kill" facilities to shelters where they'll have more time to find new homes. The ultimate goal is to help the State of California become a "no kill" state.

100% of the $100,000 Ms. Gun-Munro is seeking is earmarked for the purchase and operation of the vans. The vans are intended to relocate thousands of dogs and cats annually.

"I've had a long, successful career in the pet industry. I launched Flexi-Lead and my own patented pet products. This is my way of giving back," Ms. Gun-Munro said.
