Ken Howard will feature as a presenter and panelist at the 9th Biennial International Meaning Conference, to be held in Toronto, July 28-31, 2016, at the Novotel Toronto North York Hotel, 3 Park Home Avenue, North York, ON. Dedicated to the themes of "Spirituality, Self-Transcendence and Second-Wave Positive Psychology," the conference is organized by the Toronto-based International Network on Personal Meaning.
Howard will a conduct a Conference Workshop, "Minimum Viable Belief: How the Need for Transcendent Meaning is Breaking Down the Boundaries between Faith and Business," Sunday, July 31, 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m.
The Learning Objectives of the workshop will include:
1. Understanding what is meant by transcendent meaning.
2. Learning how clarifying a worker's transcendent meaning can increase that worker's motivation, satisfaction, and productivity.
3. Knowing how clarifying an organization's transcendent reason for existence can create a focused, creative, and sustainable organizational culture.
4. Learning how business entrepreneurs can employ faith and how faith leaders can become more entrepreneurial in a practical manner.
Howard will also participate in a Panel Discussion, "Meaning & Work," Saturday, July 30, 4:15 p.m.-6:15 p.m. Moderators: Luis Marrero and Gordon Medlock.
