NASHVILLE, TN, July 26, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dart Music Founder and CEO, Chris McMurtry, announced today that Dart Music is expanding to Dart Data, The Metadata Intelligence Company and is launching the Dart API for the media and entertainment industry. Dart Data's proprietary technology delivers metadata collection and clean-up.
"This is a big step for us. We started with the assumption that focusing on the hardest problem first would not only help classical music but the music industry at large. It's validating and encouraging that our core technology can benefit other content as well, like books and movies," said McMurtry.
McMurtry is a veteran of Apple and was head of a classical music label before starting Dart. Additionally, he is a classical composer and rock guitarist. Dart Music is a 2015 graduate of the nation's first music tech accelerator, Project Music.
Dart learns from the creators and receivers of metadata, and adapts to the many standards in the industry. This patent-pending approach evolved from Dart Data's extensive research and development in music metadata, and applies comprehensive capture and processing algorithms to generate pristine, standards-compliant metadata for a variety of applications. Users access the technology through a documented API enabling them to integrate Dart into their own systems.
"Unlike "garbage-in, garbage-out" systems, Dart's machine-learning techniques ensure that metadata output is perfectly formatted, ensuring efficient accounting and dramatically reducing overhead of labor-intensive manual processing of metadata," said David De Busk, Dart Data's Head of Business Development.
