CALGARY, AB, August 05, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- On August 20, Quinn's Legacy will celebrate their second annual run in memory of Quinn Isla Cormier and to raise awareness of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). The aim is to reach its fundraising goal of $25,000, and all funds raised will go to a bursary that helps families who have lost government financial support after suffering from the loss of a child.
"Currently, there's no financial assistance for SIDS families, so we saw an opportunity to be able to support those who have lost an infant suddenly and unexpectedly. As a result, we started this annual run and created a bursary to support these families as they start their grief journey," explained Sarah Cormier, President of Quinn's Legacy.
This year, participants can walk or run two, five or ten kilometers, and the race will start at 10 am at Monklands Park in Airdrie, AB. There will be a beer garden and a food truck at the finish line, and balloons will be released in honor of Quinn Isla Cormier.
