Tebow is 29 years old and that's too old by MLB standards, and even if a team is interested, there are some questions regarding his future in the Big Leagues.
SAN JOSE, COSTA RICA, August 10, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Just when everybody thought Tim Tebow sporting career was over, the former Heisman Trophy winner and former first-round, multi-team NFL quarterback announced that he has plans to chase a career in professional baseball.
According to his agents Jimmy Sexton and Nick Khan, the 29-year old has been working out in Arizona and Los Angeles to hone his skills. Despite his promising career as youngster, Tebow, who currently serves as ESPN broadcaster, has not played on a full-time basis since 2005 when he made the All-State baseball team in Florida and hit .494.
Tebow was competitive enough to make to the Big Leagues and was nearly drafted by the LA Angels, but he decided to play football for the Florida Gators, winning the Heisman Trophy in 2007 and appearing on BCS National Championship-winning teams in 2006 and 2008. Tebow was drafted by the Denver Broncos in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft and also played for the New York Jets. He had a brief gig with the New England Patriots and the Philadelphia Eagles, but was released by both teams prior to the start of the regular season.
"Obviously we support Tim in his pursuit of a baseball career, as we have in all his ventures," commented Tebow's football agent, Jimmy Sexton.
