CHICAGO, IL, August 17, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jacob Beckley of Woodridge, Illinois is attempting a solo-row across Lake Michigan to bring awareness to and raise funds for the most underfunded form of childhood cancer. Benefiting Lurie Children's of Chicago, Jacob will row continuously for a 24-hour period from Michigan to Chicago at the end of September.
Jacob, who was neither in athletic shape, nor a rower, committed himself to this cause. Over the past few months, Jacob has been building his own boat while training on a daily basis for the row. Although still far from his goal, Jacob is committed to accomplishing this task and making a difference. The boat build progress can be viewed at www.row4acure.com. Each day, Jacob is getting closer and closer to completing the first leg of his journey, the boat build.
Row4aCure is a one-man journey of self-exploration, overcoming challenges, and pursuing a dream. 100% of all contributions go directly to Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. Jacob is donating and contributing his time, the boat, all training and expenses out of pocket. For more information, please visit www.row4acure.com.
