Women of Distinction Magazine Selects Dawn Leger as a Distinguished Professional in Her Field

    BRISTOL, CT, August 24, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dawn Leger, Grants Administrator for the City of Bristol, Connecticut and Co-Owner/Co-Publisher of Lefora Publishing, LLC, has been recognized as a Distinguished Professional in her field through Women of Distinction Magazine. Dawn Leger will be featured in an upcoming edition of the Women of Distinction Magazine in 2016/2017.

Serving as the Grants Administrator for the City of Bristol, Connecticut, Dawn Leger has been making great strides over the past three years in her role, writing and administering grants that support a number of different government programs. Simultaneously serving as an Independent Consultant, she works to assist non-profit organizations with their research as well as the grants application process.

Writing is something that comes naturally for Leger and it is something she absolutely loves to do. She has spent a lot of time as a Freelance Writer, writing and editing many textbooks for clients in the fields of biomechanics and ergonomics. In 2012 she formed her own business on the side, Lefora Publishing, LLC, as Co-Owner/Co-Publisher. The independent publisher is dedicated to printing works of fiction and non-fiction that sheds light on the New England experience.

"I've always enjoyed writing," Leger said, noting that she would love to lecture in creative writing in the future. "Writing fiction, in particular, is my biggest passion and avocation. As an author, I hope that my books serve to inspire readers and change their lives in some small way."

Leger has published two novels, 'In Flight' and 'Eagle Scouting', and is currently working on her first book in a mystery series. A cancer survivor, she focuses on creating characters that are realistic and truly represent the world in which we live today.

Earning her BA and MA in Political Science, both at the University of Connecticut, Leger later completed her PhD in Urban Planning at Columbia University. Her tenured career includes having previously worked as a marketing and development consultant for a number of agencies as well as individuals.
