Fort Worth, TX State Farm Agent Linda Allen Donates School Supplies to Louisiana Flood Victims in Partnership with Oasis International Church

    FORT WORTH, TX, August 25, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Fort Worth, Texas - For seven years running, North Ft Worth-Saginaw TX State Farm Agent Linda Allen has been helping local kids by giving away school bags at a two-day event in mid-August. This year, she received a special request from Jorge Garcia, Disaster Relief and Outreach Coordinator at Oasis Church International, to help in the church's effort to relieve the suffering of flood victims in Louisiana.

"We're honored to help in the effort to make back-to-school as normal as possible for the kids affected by the flooding in Louisiana and to extend our school-supplies drive across state lines," said State Farm Agent Linda Allen.

The supplies collected are destined for East Baton Rouge, where Oasis Church International has already begun relief efforts. Anyone with school supplies or other items to donate should bring them by Linda Allen's State Farm Agency at 5328 Boat Club Road in Fort Worth before September 2.

In addition to school supplies, Oasis Church International is also collecting Bibles, non- perishable food items, water, toiletries, baby items, mold disinfectant and mold preventative and some specific construction supplies. "We are extremely grateful to all those who have donated supplies to the flood victims," said Jorge Garcia. A group from Oasis delivered some relief supplies to displaced families in Zachary, Louisiana, on Friday, August 19, and were motivated to expand the relief drive based upon the tremendous need.

"Tens of thousands of homes have been severely damaged," said Garcia. "We're helping anyone who needs it, and we will be bringing supplies on September 3 to some areas that were so badly flooded that we could not reach them on our last trip," he added.
