Dr. Lisa Bevilacqua chose to become a physician because she always had a strong interest in science. She loved to teach and felt that medicine was the appropriate profession to help people and be an ongoing learner. She found her place with CapitalCare Medical Group, a physician-owned medical practice. The practice offers primary care services in family practice, internal medicine and pediatrics, and it has expanded from primary care to specialty care services in endocrinology, pulmonary and sleep medicine, developmental-behavioral pediatrics, pediatric and adult neurology, nephrology, medical nutrition therapy, and comprehensive diabetes education.

To prepare for her career, Dr. Bevilacqua earned a Bachelor of Science at Adelphi University in Old Westbury, NY, which was swiftly followed by a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from New York Institute of Technology's College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1991. She completed a rotating internship at St. Clare's in Manhattan and a family medicine residency at Albany Medical Center. Each year since 2008, Dr. Bevilacqua has traveled to Africa for a mission trip.
