Women of Distinction Magazine Selects Carole Gurgone as a Distinguished Professional in Her Field

    OAKLAND, CA, September 01, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Carole Gurgone, Former Director of Operations and Finance for East Bay Perinatal Medical Associates, has been recognized as a Distinguished Professional in her field through Women of Distinction Magazine. Carole Gurgone will be featured in an upcoming edition of the Women of Distinction Magazine in 2016/2017.

While working toward her BA degree with intensions of pursuing her CPA upon graduation, Carole Gurgone was offered a position to join East Bay Perinatal Medical Associates by the company's partners in 1998 to assist them with their management and growth plans. Accepting the challenge, she quickly fell in love with their mission to provide quality care to women with high risk medical and social conditions during pregnancy regardless of income status. Most recently, Gurgone served as East Bay Perinatal Associates' Director of Operations of Finance, until the organization recently dissolved.

"I am an accomplished financial and operations management executive with 20 years of experience in the San Francisco Bay area. I directed a profit and loss with an annual budget of $18 million, over 75 employees, and a 25-member staff of independent contractor hospitalists," Gurgone said about her tenured career in healthcare. "Currently, I am beginning my search for my next best career, after spending the first quarter of 2016 volunteering to help transition the staff to a new organization and with the many intricate details of closing down the practice."

Eager for her next venture, Gurgone earned a great amount of respect of colleagues and staff due to her honest and respectful management style. She values having had the opportunity to work alongside some amazingly talented professionals throughout her career, including some from Harvard, Yale, Brigham Young, UCSF, and Stanford, of whom provided care to a very high risk population.

Gurgone is an Operational Development Team Member for Mainstream Health, Inc., a start-up company, since 2008 and a former part-owner of East Bay Physician Management, Inc. from 1982-2015. She holds a BA in Management and Business Accounting from Sonoma State University.

Instrumental in the development her former organization's website, as well as assisting business associates with designing their sites, Gurgone says that website development is a hobby of hers that she truly loves. She is a member of the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), was active as a member of The Doctors Insurance Company's Executive Administration Committee and Administrative, member of the OHGYN Hospitalist Society, and volunteers for Family to Family, which consists of a group of professionals who help give others within the community assistance with job searches, budgeting, and more.
