Is Mark Sanchez' era in Denver Coming to a Close?

Veteran Mark Sanchez, who led the New York Jets to back-to-back AFC title games earlier in his career, has lost the starting quarterback battle on the defending Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos to 2015 seventh-round pick Trevor Siemian.

Sanchez said Tuesday that he'd like to stay with the Broncos even though he did not win the team's starting job and intends to keep working as if he will be with the team.

SAN JOSE, COSTA RICA, September 02, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- In a pretty shocking upset, veteran Mark Sanchez, who led the New York Jets to back-to-back AFC title games earlier in his career, has lost the starting quarterback battle on the defending Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos to 2015 seventh-round pick Trevor Siemian, who has not attempted a single regular-season pass. So what next for Mr. Buttfumble?

Will Sanchez get traded to Dallas?
The Cowboys are in the market for a veteran backup quarterback with the news that starter Tony Romo will miss anywhere from 4-10 weeks with a fractured vertebra in his back. So rookie Dak Prescott will start at least the first few weeks of the season, but there's no QB with any experience behind him until Romo gets back.

WILL SANCHEZ GET TRADED TO THE DALLAS COWBOYS
YES: +140
NO: -200

Will Sanchez stay in Denver or is he getting traded to some other NFL team?
It's been clear for the past week that the Broncos are looking to get rid of Sanchez. The quarterback didn't play a single snap against the Rams on Saturday, which is notable because it was Week 3 of the preseason and starters genuinely play at least a half during Week 3. But will Mark Sanchez make the Broncos' 53 man roster? MyBookie has the YES listed at +170 and the NO at -250.

Will Sanchez see some action in 2016?
Sanchez will surely get into a few games even if he stays with Denver. Siemian was a seventh-round pick for a reason and wasn't even that good in college at Northwestern. Plus there's always the injury factor. Broncos' rookie first-round pick Paxton Lynch isn't ready yet to play a regular-season game.

WILL SANCHEZ PLAY A REGULAR SEASON GAME IN 2016?
YES: +130
NO: -170

How many games will Sanchez start in 2016?
Sanchez said Tuesday that he'd like to stay with the Broncos even though he did not win the team's starting job and intends to keep working as if he will be with the team.

It would be kind of surprising if Sanchez doesn't get at least one start this year, but that depends if he's with the Broncos by this weekend. If Sanchez makes the Broncos' final roster, the team would owe Philadelphia a conditional draft pick as payment for the trade. Should the Broncos opt to waive him, they would save the draft pick and $3.5 million in cap space.
