WASHINGTON, DC, September 07, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Celeste Johnson-Matheson, Chief Executive Officer, Keep Me Near the Cross (K.M.N.T.C.), LLC, has been recognized with an Excellence Award as a Distinguished Professional in her field through Women of Distinction Magazine. Celeste Johnson-Matheson will be featured in an upcoming edition of the Women of Distinction Magazine in 2016/2017.
Celeste Johnson-Matheson, Chief Executive Officer of Keep Me Near the Cross (K.M.N.T.C.), worked full-time for the US Government as a Military Personnel Clerk and Military Personnel Specialist for before moving into the role of Executive Liaison Officer. Her experience working for the military has shed a lot of light on her career, and even more so on her life, and just how delicate it is. Making the decision to get back into writing, a passion of hers she's had since childhood, gave her an outlet to enjoy life more, and eventually developed into a business all its own.
"I've always enjoyed writing poetry, short stories, and keeping a journal," Johnson-Matheson said. "I find it to be very therapeutic. I knew that someday I'd publish my works, but it was just much later in life that I finally able to fulfill that dream."
Initially inspired to get back to writing after the attacks of September 11th at the Pentagon, and the fact that she no longer wanted to take life for granted, Johnson-Matheson dove deep into writing her first novel, 'Keep Me Near The Cross: Judgment or Journey'. The book was so successful that she was able to build an entire business around it as Founder and CEO selling the paperback and Kindle versions and branching out by offering an entire line of inspirational and motivational designer merchandise with the K.M.N.T.C. logo on them. The merchandise was designed to remind customers that their lives can all be transformed with some positive inspiration.
Released in March 2016, the 356-page book, published by JAHS Publishing Group, focuses on the everyday struggles Christians face. It's about survival, struggles, and keeping the faith in order to persevere. The true-to-life novel explores all of this from a pastor's perspective.
"My book is fiction, but everyone can relate to it," Johnson-Matheson said. "I want readers to read my book and know that their life challenges are nothing but a platform for opportunities. The challenges are not the issue, it's how you respond to those challenges and transform life adversities into a window of personal growth and opportunities."
Johnson-Matheson is also a Motivation Speaker. She has been a guest speaker for various women's conferences in the Virginia, Washington, DC, and Maryland areas. Active as a member of Women Empowered to Achieve the Impossible and We're Empowered to Achieve the Impossible, as well as National Association of Professional Women, she firmly believes in the power of surrounding herself with others who are equally optimistic in all areas of life.
Holding a BSBA from Strayer University, Johnson-Matheson is currently working toward her MS in Business Administration at Central Michigan University to further advance her career.
