HELSINKI, FINLAND, September 15, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Creanord brings unsurpassed power and versatility to turn-up NFV/SDN and measure traditional networks' capability to support TCP applications with speeds ranging from 1 Gbps to 100 Gbps.
New Supercharged TrueTCP monitoring helps validate the ability of middleboxes to handle high connection rates and thereby simulate large numbers of users. Both traditional and virtualized networks may have a number of middleboxes, providing services such as firewall, cache or NAT. Testing at what point the middleboxes impact performance requires real TCP traffic in meaningful quantities. Creanord TrueTCP enables 1,000,000s of connections and enables testing all the way up to 100G on Intel DPDK-powered platforms. The purpose of the test is to help determine the number of sustainable sessions in the network.
"Powerful TCP testing has become a must," states Creanord CEO Jari Augustin. "You simply need to know how many users your network can sustain. Solutions either utilizing headers-only 'Fake TCP' or supporting only some tens of connections are inadequate when it comes to simulating tens or hundreds of thousands of users on TCP. RFC 6349 is a good starting point, but does not go nearly far enough. So we took it and supercharged it with the help of Intel DPDK and run it on our vProbe - enabling automated pre-testing of SDN-driven connections with NFV middleboxes."
The Creanord solution enables running vProbes in central locations, intermediate points or at the vCPE enabling capacity, health and active monitoring, segmented or end-to-end. The new TrueTCP complements existing measurements with RFC 6349, and enables unsurpassed power for TCP testing with millions of simultaneous TCP connections. Supercharged TrueTCP runs on CreaNODE hardware probes and vProbe all the way up to 100G.
