Alyson from TANDA started her exquisite, organic candle range from scratch after she grew tired of not being able to find organic, full-bodied scents outside the realm of pure lavender, vanilla or -gasp- frangipani.

The complex scents in TANDA's organic range take the nose on a never-ending journey, much like the legendary myths they are named after. Andromeda, Cetus and Perseus are all star constellations and characters from Greek mythology.

The story goes that the King's beautiful and high-spirited daughter, Andromeda was the envy of her mother and when their city faced peril, Andromeda's mother found an opportunity to sacrifice her daughter to the sea monster, Cetus. Perseus, the demi-god then rescued Andromeda from Cetus and as nearly all fables go, Andromeda and Perseus lived happily ever after.

If one had to draw any comparisons to modern day, the organic candle range from TANDA Modern sits happily amongst Watershed Union's other worldly, hand-made homewares to complement any story lover's home.

Alyson has managed to capture these individual characters perfectly in the TANDA organic range. Andromeda is an ultra-feminine scent; think lavender, jasmine and rose geranium. Her hero and lover, Perseus, is the most masculine scent in the collection; cedarwood, ylang ylang, patchouli - a gritty and natural combination which is just how you'd expect Perseus to be after completing his monster-conquering quests.

Cetus, being a sea monster was a little harder to capture but being from the sea, Alyson infused a fresh combination of oranges, mandarin oil and patchouli to complete her organic collection with a gender-neutral option.

The simple candle is an honest, classic product that has transpired through the ages, constantly being reinvented to suit personal tastes.
