Datix to Recognize Patient Safety Innovation with National Award

    CHICAGO, IL, September 17, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The inaugural ASHRM Patient Safety Award - Partnering with Datix to Recognize Patient Safety Innovation - will be awarded at the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management Annual Conference, scheduled for September 25-28 in Orlando. The award recognizes organizational excellence in patient safety and celebrates the efforts of risk management professionals in promoting patient safety across the healthcare enterprise.

This first-time award will recognize an organization that has implemented an initiative or program in patient safety that demonstrates a new approach that has not yet gained national exposure. In addition, the initiative must promote an organizational culture of safety, support collaboration with other providers and within the continuum of care, and be replicable or adaptable by other organizations.

The goal of the award is to highlight patient safety innovations than can be spread across the healthcare industry, thus reducing preventable patient harm not only in the United States, but also abroad. The award will be presented by Datix CEO Seyed Mortazavi during the morning keynote panel session on Tuesday, September 27.

"Healthcare organizations have made great strides in improving patient safety," Mortazavi said. "While it is important to recognize the hard work being done by individual organizations, the greater opportunity is to share these successes with others, so that they can be replicated elsewhere."

The ASHRM Annual Conference is the premiere educational conference in healthcare risk management.
