PRESTO, PA, October 01, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Gail K. Neustadt (aka Dylan Weiss), Author of 'Sebastian's Tale', has been recognized as a Distinguished Professional in her field through Women of Distinction Magazine. Neustadt will be featured in the upcoming edition of Women of Distinction Magazine's Top 10 Authors edition in 2016/2017.
In the story of 'Sebastian's Tale', now published by Red Engine Press and first book of the Skunk Tales Trilogy, best friends Sebastian and Willie embark on an exciting adventure as they struggle to unravel an ancient prophecy and end a family curse. This is the story of an allegory about the destruction of Penn's Wood as told through the experience of woodland animals. The poignant fable appeals to all ages and can be appreciated on multiple levels. A book launch is scheduled for October 18, 2016 at Carnegie Free Library and Music Hall in Carnegie, Pennsylvania from 6-8pm. The next two books of the trilogy, 'Norton's Tale' and 'Abigail's Tale', are currently in the works.
Author Gail K. Neustadt, who goes by the pen name of Dylan Weiss, continues to focus her energy on writing and has no plans of stopping anytime soon. Initially inspired in 2007 to begin a career in writing, she loves the many challenges and rewards along the way.
"In 2007, a series of mystical events propelled me to begin writing a fantasy," Neustadt said. "Writing is something I did throughout my career as a Speech-Language Pathologist. At that time, not only did I specialize in communication programs for people with dementia, but I was also designing programs for my husband David, who, in 1994, was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's disease. Ironically, it was the challenge of his disease that furthered my own self-actualization and personal growth."
Neustadt currently sits on Friends of Collier Parks and Recreation, a non-profit, which she chaired for four years. She previously spent over 30 years as a Speech-Language Pathologist specializing in geriatrics, specifically the development of individualized communication programs for individuals with dementia. In addition to her many years as a therapist, Neustadt owned two private practices where she served as Chief Financial Officer. She had the honor of working with the government's Medicare and Medicaid Services within the Department of Health and Human Services on Technical Expert Panels that ushered in the prospective payment and quality monitoring systems for skilled nursing facilities.
