MIRAMAR, FL, October 05, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Now in its fourth year, The Lynne Mitchell Foundation's annual fundraising and scholarship gala will be taking place on Saturday, October 15th. "This is our spotlight fundraising event of the year," said Marlene Gordon, President of Lynne Mitchell Foundation. "All the donations raised at this event allow us to continue to advance our mission of education and continue to grow to serve more children in need of educational resources."
This year's gala will also feature a guest appearance from Jamaica's Minister of Education, Youth & Information, Senator, the Honorable Ruel B. Reid, who will speak about how the Lynne Mitchell Foundation has positively impacted so many students. Additionally, the foundation will be presenting two $3,000 scholarships to two students so that they may continue their high school education with fewer worries about the cost of books, uniforms, transportation, meals, and other supplies. The two award winners were chosen from among many submitted essays from the Seaview Primary School in Jamaica, the foundation's partner school. Gavaska Gordon and Tiffany Peart, the two scholarship recipients, will be present at the gala event and will be sharing their experiences and their future plans made possible through the foundation's efforts.
The Gala event will take place on Saturday, October 15th, beginning at 7:00 pm at the Coral Gables Country Club -. A VIP food and drink reception will start at 6:00 pm prior to the cocktail reception, hors d'oeuvres and silent auction, followed by a dinner, live auction, and entertainment, and concluding with an after party that begins at 10:15 pm.
General Admission Tickets are currently available for $150 per person and can be purchased online through http://www.lynnemitchellfoundation.org/a-night-in-the-caribbean-gala.
