ST. PETERS, MO, October 06, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Church on the Rock will be hosting a veterans town hall meeting, which is sponsored by the VA Health Care System of St. Louis, on Thurs., October 27 at their location at 900 Birdie Hills Road in St. Peters.
The event will run from 5 to 7 p.m. It is open to the public, including veterans, family members, and other beneficiaries, as well as congressional stakeholders, Veterans Service Organizations (VSO), non-governmental organizations, and community partners. In addition, the Department of Veteran Affairs will hold a concurrent resource fair and will have individuals on site to answer questions regarding health care eligibility, applying for benefits, information on mental health services, burial benefits, and more.
This meeting is especially important to the church as they have several members who are veterans. These veterans regularly take part in the church's veterans ministry and are very active in attending these town hall meetings.
These meetings, which are held each month, have helped hundreds of veterans throughout St. Louis receive information on claims, disability, compensation, and more.
"When we started our veteran ministry, it was our dream to host a town hall meeting in which all the main players of pivotal organizations could come together to speak with veterans from our church and the Greater St. Louis region," said Pastor David Blunt of Church on the Rock. "We are so proud to provide help for those who fearlessly defended our wonderful nation."
Founded in 1983, Church on the Rock is located in St. Peters, Mo., and is dedicated to spreading God's Word. The church has grown to a vibrant congregation of nearly 5,000 members with a vision to impact its city, the nation, and the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Throughout both the local church and the live streaming broadcasts, Pastor Blunt's insights into the Word challenge and inspire believers to grow to new levels in their relationships with God and their service to others.
