BROOKLYN, NY, October 06, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Alisha Griffith is a speaker and a coach whose passion is to help others find and share their greatness with the world. She is a trained educator, speech-language pathologist, and audiologist who connect those with speech and hearing difficulties.
In her book, "AU-MAZING GIFT: A Journey to Autism Acceptance" takes us on her journey from denial to acceptance. She shared her touching story on how she was able to overcome tough challenges in life after her child was diagnosed with autism.
Dr. Alisha said, "Seeing the good in others is always great, but when it comes to your own life, it always becomes a little harder to see it within those lenses until you actually try to pick yourself out of it again. That's what I had to do for myself. I had to remove myself from it for a second and look at it from the outside and then begin the acceptance stage."
Just like Dr. Alisha, you need to embrace life by accepting reality and differences. Don't allow your negative beliefs to leave you stuck in a place of grief and hatred. Try to be more optimistic. Try to look at the person's abilities rather than the effects of autism. We need to understand and support them to we can help them improve themselves and their opportunities in life.
"There are some things in life that when you first have them presented to you, they just don't feel fair. They just seem like the world and everything you believe in is picking on you, but sometimes those things are the greatest gifts in our life. As we learn acceptance, we can truly be more amazing ourselves as well as see just how amazing those gifts in our life are."
