Women of Distinction Magazine Selects Olivia Frazier Kerr as a Distinguished Professional in Her Field

    CARROLLTON, TX, October 13, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Olivia Frazier Kerr, Professor and Coordinator of the Business Office Systems and Support Program at El Centro College, has been recognized as a Distinguished Professional in her field through Women of Distinction Magazine. Olivia Frazier Kerr was recently featured in a 2016 edition of Women of Distinction and will soon be featured in an upcoming edition of Top 10 Educators 2016.

Teaching higher education for the past 14 years and counting, Olivia Frazier Kerr uses her 22 years of relative business experience to teach, mentor, and mold each of her students at El Centro College in Dallas, Texas. As a Professor and Coordinator of their Business Office Systems and Support Program, she relies on her keen sense of knowledge and knowhow to get students off on the right path. Applying innovation to the program by converting a typical classroom into a 21st century, real world experience, learners are actively engaged day in and day out.

"I am just as eager to teach my students about the real world as they are to learn about it. I try to keep the material that I teach as relative as possible by being actively engaged in the learning process," Kerr said, whose career is built on both passion and determination.

Kerr's experience stems from many wonderful years of hands-on experience. By converting her classes into a business-like atmosphere, students are not only more engaged, but they are much more prepared for what's ahead once the leave the classroom as a result.

Earning her BA at Bishop College in 1978, followed by her MBA in Strategic Leadership at Amber University many years later in 2000, she also participated in graduate studies at Northcentral University in the late 2000s. A member of International Association of Administrative Professionals, International Business Educators Association, National Business Education Association, and International Virtual Assistants Association, Kerr tries her best to continue networking in her field to not only to stay relevant, but to also be able to bring those experiences with her back to the classroom.

Recognized in her field several times for her work, Kerr was named Top Female Executive in 2014 by the Who's Who Publisher's Roster for her outstanding professional excellence and dedication. She also earned a Distance Education's Quality Matters Circle of Excellence Award in 2015 from El Centro College.
