CLEVELAND, OH, November 01, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Eisen Law Firm, a prominent medical malpractice law firm, will reward a graduating senior of an accredited Ohio high school a $1,000 scholarship. By engaging students in a creative media production project for the second year in a row, the firm will continue inspiring young adults to use their talents to increase public awareness of patient safety.
"I am passionate about eradicating preventable medical mistakes and keeping people safe when they go to a hospital," said Managing Partner of The Eisen Law Firm, Brian Eisen. "By educating teens and young adults about patient safety, I hope our firm can spark the same passion in a younger generation."
Contestants are asked to create a short video relating to patient safety. Videos must be uploaded to YouTube no later than January 15, 2017. Winners will be announced on the Eisen Law Firm's website www.MalpracticeOhio.com and via the firm's social media handles during the month of March, 2017. Videos must address either of the following prompts:
1. Lawyers are often the butt of jokes. But they also are instrumental in advocating for patient safety. Tell us a lawyer joke. Then tell us why it isn't funny.
2. In Shakespeare's Henry VI, Dick, the Butcher says, "The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers." Why might that be a bad idea for patient safety?
The Eisen Law Firm will judge videos based 75 percent on content and 25 percent on creativity. Contestants may use animation, props, costumes, or other creative attributes in their video. Videos can be recorded on a personal SmartPhone. No higher quality devices are necessary.
The application process is as follows: submit your video by uploading it to YouTube. Title it "The Eisen Law Firm Patient Safety Scholarship - (insert your name)." In the description, the applicant should include http://www.malpracticeohio.com/scholarships. Once the video is available online, students may apply here. Please have the following information ready: name, address, school attending, phone number, email address, any comments and a link to the YouTube video.
Only one video may be submitted per applicant. Team applications will be accepted if team members are willing to split the scholarship amongst themselves. By applying, contestants give The Eisen Law Firm the exclusive right to use and publish submitted material.
