NEW YORK, NY, October 28, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The independent consumer organization, Oppenheim Toy Portfolio, announces this morning their annual awards for the most outstanding toys of 2016 on their website, www.toyportfolio.com. Co-founder and child development expert Stephanie Oppenheim will share some of the winners on NBC's TODAY Show.
"It was a strong year for the toy industry with better uses of technology that are engaging children in using tech rather than just watching it unfold," notes Oppenheim. "Classic toys (games, crafts and construction toys) are on our list but often with a 21st century twist. On the downside, toys continue to be pricey and our testing families wished more toys came pre-assembled."
The Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Platinum Awards are given to the most outstanding and innovative products of the year. Other notable awards: the Gold Seal Award is given to highly recommended products; Blue Chip Award honors classic products; and the Special Needs Adaptable Product Award recognizes toys most appropriate for kids with special needs. Complete reviews of all winners are online at www.toyportfolio.com.
