About The Rev. Joseph A. Holmes:

Rev. Holmes strives to help churches grow their congregants and strengthen their churches using the eight principles of Natural Church Development. He focuses on enhancing a congregation's fulfillment of Matthew 28:19-20, with emphasis on making disciples for Jesus Christ. Rev. Holmes also coaches pastors and is in the process of assembling a church health team from the congregation.

To prepare for his career, Rev. Holmes earned a Natural Church Development License from ChurchSmart Resources in 2012 and he is also certified in therapeutic crisis intervention through Youth Town of Tennessee in 2002. He holds a substitute teaching certificate from the Jackson Madison County Board of Education in 2002.

Rev. Holmes earned a Master of Divinity from Memphis Theological Seminary in 1996, and he has also completed MBA coursework through Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey in 1979 and a Bachelor of Science in engineering science from Hofstra University in 1969.

Rev. Holmes started out in Lawrenceburg, Tenn. for two years at St. Johns' United Methodist Church, and then went to Memphis for five years to work with Warren United Methodist Church. He then became the associate director of the Memphis Conference United Methodist Church. He works with Presbyterian, Baptists, Methodist, and Catholic Churches-any church that is Trinitarian. His most recent work is a year-long project that is intended to help his local church grow.
