LOS ANGELES, CA, November 07, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The first film in the series, "Illma Gore: Volume One," investigate the challenges Illma faced as a homeless youth on the streets of Australia, and explores what the public finds fascinating and revolting about her work. By inviting strangers to tattoo anything that they wanted onto her body for The Human Canvas Project, Illma garnered significant attention celebrating her as a free spirit, and revulsion by those who see her as irreversibly denigrating her young, adult body. Illma's been both celebrated and censored throughout the world, and is globally known for her political art, including a nude drawing of Donald Trump complete with a micropenis. Gore has found her place in political protest art, but she identifies herself as a fine portraiture artist.
This film has been shot over a 2 year period, in the United States, Mexico, England, and France, as directed by documentary filmmaker Chachi Ramirez. A newly released teaser trailer for the film can be seen at mercyplease.com/illmagore.
