BRISTOL, CT, November 17, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dawn Leger, Grants Administrator for the City of Bristol, has been recognized as a Distinguished Professional in her field through Women of Distinction Magazine. Dawn Leger will soon be featured in an upcoming edition of the Women of Distinction Magazine.
Working for the City of Bristol, Connecticut as a Grants Administrator, Dawn Leger writes and administers grants that support various government programs. As an Independent Consultant, she also assists non-profit organizations with their research and the grants application process.
A big part of what Leger does as a Grants Administrator involves writing successful applications for funding projects. In her spare time, she writes and edits textbooks in the fields of biomechanics and ergonomics and assists doctoral students with their dissertations. She also keeps busy as the Co-Owner and Co-Publisher of Lefora Publishing, LLC, an independent publisher that prints works of fiction and non-fiction by New England writers.
Leger has authored two novels of her own, 'In Flight' and 'Eagle Scouting'. Leger notes that she enjoys creating realistic characters who deal with the compelling challenges of modern life.
"My book 'In Flight' is the story of Marta, an attorney in New York City, who returns to homeland of Turkey for business and is forced to confront the family drama she left behind as a young woman. My second book,'Eagle Scouting', is another family drama," Leger explained. "In 'Eagle Scouting', which takes place around the time of the attacks on the World Trade Center, a young photographer seeks answers to help her brother's brutal murder at the hands of terrorists linked to the attacks in New York. It's a timely and disturbing thriller."
Leger's new project is a mystery series featuring the "thinking woman's Stephanie Plum". The series features Art History Professor Cassie Thornton, who is struggling to find her way in a difficult world. Bad things are happening and she's constantly being challenged by folks from her missing mother's Gypsy past who wants to drag her into a shadier life. The first book in a projected 22-book series is anticipated for an early 2017 release date.
Leger holds her BA and Master's in Political Science from the University of Connecticut and her PhD in Urban Planning from Columbia University.
