Respect Is Paramount

The book is unique in that it showcases wisdom nuggets that have been passed down by our ancestors through storytelling from one generation to another.

One bit of wisdom that Carolyn presents in her book relates a great extent to the outcome of the last presidential election. That quote of wisdom points out that, "If you can't respect the man, then respect his position of President and the Office that he represents."

She further states that, "When someone is in a position to greatly impact your life, give them due respect." It is important to understand that this doesn't mean that you have to agree with everything that the person in power says or does.

However, you should respect the fact that the people have spoken and since we live in a democracy, we have to abide by the rules of a democratic society, which has made its choice clear through the process of voting at the polls.

Yes, the people have spoken, but what we have to recognize is that God is still on the throne. The United States claims to be a praying nation. We state clearly on our currency "In God We Trust." Do we really trust Him?

The same God whose word, The Holy Bible, has been presented by the vast majority of every President-Elect in the history of the United States for him to place his hand on while being sworn in.

If we're that worried about what the President-Elect will do to our country, remember the passage of scripture nestled between the covers of the very Bible that the President-elect puts his hand on, which reads, "If my people who are called by my name, will humble themselves, and pray, seek my face then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin and heal their land."

Maybe, just maybe, instead of a president-elect merely placing his hand on the bible while being sworn in, maybe he should pick the Bible up before entering the Oval Office, open it, read it and let the word of God govern his leadership. Then, and only then, will America ever achieve greatness!
