DANBURY, CT, November 22, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kids learned that helping others has its own rewards. Adults got to feel like kids again and the whole community came just a little closer together.

It was all part of Dental Associates of Connecticut's annual Halloween Candy Buy Back that took place on November 8th. Kids came ready to exchange their bags, sacks, and pumpkins filled with Holiday candy for cash.

"This year's Candy Buy Back was a huge success. We've almost tripled the amount of candy since the first year we started, and continue to grow each year," says Janet Mossop, spokesperson for Dental Associates of Connecticut.

This year's candy collection totals were pretty impressive. In all, the four Dental Associates of Connecticut offices handed out $2,405 for 1,202.5 pounds of candy collected. Over the 14 years that Dental Associates has been offering the Candy Buy Back program, almost 7 tons of candy has been collected.

Where does all that candy go you might wonder? The candy, along with dental care packages gets donated to our troops overseas through Operation Gratitude, Give the Kids the World Village, the Women's Center of Greater Danbury and Yale Children's Hospital.
