Vinson Orthodontics Donates $3500 to Local Non-Profit 1in9

    RALEIGH, NC, November 19, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Vinson Orthodontics is excited to announce a donation of $3500 to the local non-profit, 1in9, in memory of Dr. Minhthu Nguyen. Dr. Britt Vinson and his staff spent the months of September and October collecting donations and hosting Breast Cancer awareness efforts in their offices.

"Any opportunity to get involved in the community and have our patients participate in the process is a no-brainer," said Dr. Vinson. "What makes this cause even more important to us is the impact that Dr. Minhthu had on us during her battle with cancer. We really want to be part of finding the cure."

More than 350 of Dr. Vinson's orthodontic patients contributed their rewards points (earned for compliance and commitment during treatment) to the fundraising event. Many patients used their rewards points to purchase "Braced for a Cure" t-shirts from Vinson Orthodontics. 100% of the proceeds from the t-shirts went to 1in9.

1in9 was created to assist women in North Carolina with breast cancer. In an effort to expand the focus and circle of support to all women's cancers, the name has been changed to 1 of Us.

The mission of 1 of Us is to help women undergoing gynecological cancer treatment. To date, the organization has assisted more than 1,000 women being treated for cancer around Raleigh and Wake Forest. 1 of Us provides financial assistance to defray costs of treatment, prescriptions, medical supplies, and community education in the fight for a cure.
