Describing her products as a combination of traditional Italian flavors paired with quality ingredients, Nardo takes great pride in her work and says that it takes a lot of effort to get to the final product.

"I come into work very early in the morning each day to make my business a success and there is no other place I'd rather be," Nardo said enthusiastically. A Pastry Chef and Cake Designer for nearly a decade in New York City, Nardo grew up around food. Born and raised in Rome, Italy, she later moved to the United States to earn her BA in Psychology at the New School. However, once she graduated and began working toward her master's degree, she took an internship working at a famous cake shop in the City and fell in love with the experience. Quickly exiting her master's program, she enrolled and graduated from the French Culinary Institute (now International Culinary Center) with a degree in Cake Designs and Techniques. Gaining experience by working in several kitchens across Manhattan over the next few years, Nardo finally formed Sugar Sketch Cakery in 2013.

"Over the years, I've worked in every area of the business, from the counter to the kitchen, all of which have been vital to my success today in being able to not only run but also appreciate every aspect of the bakery operation," Nardo added. "And while I still have room to grow in my business, I have never felt more at home and I hope that it shows in my work."
