INDIANAPOLIS, IN, November 24, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Sherry Heston, Chief Executive Officer of Appraiser Alliance, Inc., has been recognized as a Distinguished Professional in her field through Women of Distinction Magazine. Sherry Heston was recently featured in a 2015 edition of Women of Distinction Magazine.
As Founder and CEO of Appraiser Alliance, Inc. in the heart of Indianapolis, Indiana since 2011, Sherry Heston has developed a wonderfully successful business in the real estate market, providing appraisal services all across her home state. Having since expanded into the states of Michigan, Ohio, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Kentucky, she continues to rely on her intense sense of work ethic, integrity, loyalty to both her team members and clients, and sincere love for the field.
"I have been in this business since I landed my very first position as a secretary for a local appraisal company in 1987," Heston said. "Much has changed since then, especially as it relates to the technology aspects of the business, but I've learned from the ground up and I am so proud of how far I've come. I absolutely love the diversity of what I do today and thoroughly enjoy and appreciate everything I've worked so hard for."
Appraiser Alliance, Inc. offers quality appraisals for the client's every need. Whether looking to sell a property, challenge property tax assessments, refinance to lower mortgage rates, reinstate a home equity line of credit due to recent declines in the market, or simply desire a second opinion, Heston's team is there to assist. Offering prompt, accurate, and professional services, they are dedicated to client satisfaction.
Heston's experience in the industry stems from her many years of training in the business, and although she prefers to be behind the scenes rather that acting as an appraiser herself, she loves the opportunity to serve so many communities across the US by employing only the finest in the field.
Beginning her career nearly 30 years ago, Heston tackled her first challenge of learning how to use a computer. Becoming self-taught in DOS programming and appraisal software after first having to use a typewriter and develop film for clients, she was later trained in accounting, how to track appraisals, and the art of making new client contacts and acquiring new business Moving on to work for several other firms in both the residential and commercial community and gaining experience as an office manager, she eventually landed a role with working for Calvert and Associates, Inc. in 1990 by Owner Doris Calvert.
"Doris taught me many aspects of running a business," she said. "She was well respected in the industry and, ultimately, it was she who opened the doors to my success today in the appraisal business."
Heston worked for Doris until she retired. When the business closed its doors two years later, Heston seized the opportunity and formed Appraiser Alliance, Inc., taking on many of Doris's former employees. Over time, Heston's business continued to take shape, and today it is a thriving business.
Active as a member of the Metropolitan Indianapolis Board of Realtors, Heston is also the current President of Greater Home Place Neighborhood Association, a group that hosts events for the community and promotes projects to improve the area. Additionally, Heston enjoys being affiliated with the Girl Scouts of America where she serves as Cookie Manager, Assistant Girl Scout Leader, member of the Girl Scout Service Unit, and Constituent Representative for her area.
