PAULS VALLEY, OK, November 28, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- From the Author of the newly publish book, "John on The Run: A Survey of the Bible-New Testament Book of John." Just in time for the Christmas holidays. Dr. Michael Eaton will share with your audience five simple truths about Christmas. This is something that you should know this holiday season.
Listed below in descending order are the five things about Christmas that everyone should know:
5. Christmas is about Festivities
Who doesn't enjoy the festivities of Christmas? Only the Grinch and Scrooge! People love to put up their Christmas tree and send out Christmas cards. Who doesn't love to receive Christmas presents? The hanging of the Christmas stocking with your name on it. We all love to see the Christmas lights on the houses or in the town square. The remaking of the nativity scenes and the Christmas plays at school or at church. Christmas is a wonderful and festive time.
4. Christmas is about Football
I must confess that I placed this on my list for all the men and women who love football. I am from Dallas, Texas. Yes, you guessed right! I am a Dallas Cowboy fan. Sadly, the Cowboy's will not be playing on Christmas day. We had our turkey for Thanksgiving. However, the Ravens and the Steelers will play at 3:30 PM. The Broncos and the Chiefs will play later at 7:30 PM. Are you ready for some football?
3. Christmas is about Family
Count it as a blessing if you have a close-knit family. Christmas is about family getting together to share in the festivities of Christmas. Some of my fondest moment in my life was spending time with family at Christmas. We went to Crowville, Louisiana to grand momma's house. I do not remember most of the gifts that I received, but I do remember being around my mother, grand pa, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
2. Christmas is about Food.
Christmas is about the food where I am from. We have always had soul food along with the traditional turkey. Some of the dishes were the honey baked ham, collard greens, macaroni and cheese, potato salad, corn bread dressing, giblet gravy, candied yams, sweet potato pie and all kinds of cakes. My mother would make her famous strawberry cake.
1. Christmas is about Favor.
Most of us are blessed and highly favor during the Christians holidays. We are blessed to give and we are blessed to receive. We have gifts under the tree and in the stocking. We open our gifts and we eat delicious food as we celebrate the most wonderful time of the year!
There is another gift that perhaps many do not open during this time of year. That gift is the life of Jesus Christ!
John on the Run is a book written for those who would like to get to know Jesus Christ during the Christmas holidays!
