ST. LOUIS, MO, November 30, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- McArthur's Bakery Cafe is proud to announce their recent partnership with Chef Josh Charles. Charles will be overseeing the development of all four of the bakery's food and beverage programs.
"We couldn't be more excited to have Chef Charles take on the task of defining our food and beverage program of the future," said Scott Rinaberger, owner of McArthur's Bakery Cafe. "His passion, coupled with his vision of where fast casual food can be taken to, provides McArthur's an incredible opportunity to become one of St. Louis' premier destinations not just for cakes and bakery goods, but also for delicious food offerings for our customers' celebrations."
Charles will begin implementing new menu items at each of the branches and will help in revamping the menu by the end of the year. The menu will include classic American celebration food with a contemporary twist. These new items will feature seasonal, fresh, and locally-sourced ingredients.
"I like to think of these new menu items as healthy comfort food," said Charles. "I am thinking about using foods commonly found at barbeques, birthday parties, and during the holidays, taking those items, and giving them some extra flavor while cutting out any unnecessary ingredients."
Chef Charles, who is the executive chef at Element and former chef de cuisine at Elaia+Olio, is looking forward to this new opportunity with McArthur's Bakery Cafe.
"I have been obsessed with fast food and fast casual food for quite some time now; I love the idea of getting great food quickly to customers," said Charles. "When the opportunity to work with McArthur's was presented, I had to jump on it. Since I've been working in mostly fine dining kitchens, I have been looking for an outlet to make some more everyday food. I am looking forward to creating a food program that provides value, convenience, and nutrition to everyone."
"Chef Charles is already making an immediate impact to our menu by reworking some of our sandwiches, salads, and soups with better flavors and fresher ingredients while better understanding our costs. This is allowing us to lower pricing to our customers in December where no item is more than $6.99," said Rinaberger. "McArthur's cakes and bakery goods are known for high quality at an affordable price and now our food program will match what we are about."
