After being a nurse for 20 years, Ms. Froehlich decided to purchase a long-term care facility to provide resident and patients ranging in ages from 50 to 103 the opportunity to continue to maintain a sense of independence while still remaining under supervised health care. Elder Lodge Assisted Living provides care for 15 residents, and it accepts private paying patients, as well as those whose care is subsidized by the Veterans Administration or public funding.

Ms. Froehlich prepared for a career in health care by earning an associate degree in nursing. Presently, she is working to supplement that degree with a bachelor's degree in nursing. Based on the success of Elder Lodge, she also plans to open a second assisted living facility.
