Manufacturing Day 2016 at Wenzel America

Manufacturing Day is a celebration of modern manufacturing meant to shine the spotlight on 21st century manufacturing and inspire the next generation of manufacturers, and Wenzel did not disappoint.

At the event, 15 students experienced a hands-on view into the world of dimensional metrology and metrology principles, including how a CT system can scan a medical implant as well as teaching them about the language of GD&T.

"Until I went to manufacturing day at Wenzel, I wasn't even sure what a quality part inspection process really was, said one satisfied student. "Not only did it give me a better understanding of what is involved, it also gave me an appreciation for what metrology can offer me as a career path."

The event also give students a rare glimpse into how the balance of strength, accuracy and fluidity makes a CMM so good at what it does, insights they can incorporate when starting on their own unique journey into the metrology side of manufacturing.
