At the completion of the upcoming training sessions, employees will add another rating criteria to the list: "Certified Sky Retail Installer."
ATLANTA, GA, December 19, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- After adding a state-of-the-art training facility to their Cumming, Georgia headquarters earlier this year, Sky Retail Services will be holding its first round of installer training events beginning in late December and continuing into the new year. The first training session will be a kick-off event for local recruits, and is intended to set the tone for the company's year ahead, with 2017 already dubbed Sky Retail's "New Year of Training" by owner Steven Worsham.
The 6,000 square-foot training facility for workers mimics common retail environments as much as possible. Client-donated fixtures, signage, and decor are on hand for employee practice, as well as most of the machinery used in the field. But the training won't just focus on the construction and installation job skills: each worker will also leave training with an understanding of higher-level industry skills, like how to estimate a job or read a retail floor plan.
The new focus is an ambitious move to help the retail installer company to keep focus on quality as business continues to grow. According to Worsham, maintaining a balance between local Georgia headquarters staff and a vast database of associated workers who can be deployed nationwide has always been a tightrope act. To help navigate staffing for jobs that may happen across the country, Worsham created a "3 Point, 5 Star" rating system, evaluating every worker in the database based on performance qualities like timeliness, professionalism, and skill-level.
At the completion of the upcoming training sessions, employees will add another rating criteria to the list: "Certified Sky Retail Installer." Since the new training comprehensively covers the most common aspects of retail installation jobs and company-wide best practices, this will be the new preferred criteria for staffing. After locals train, Sky Retail Services will be holding more sessions and flying in regional workers throughout the year. Once the "New Year of Training" is complete, the 6,000 square-foot training facility will be used for continuing skills education as well as for new recruits.
For ongoing recruiting, Sky Retail Services seeks skilled leaders, project managers and supervisors. Qualified applicants should call 770-406-8175.
Sky Retail Services performs new store openings and remodels, including installation of fixtures, signage, cabling, and vinyl and commercial wallpaper graphics, as well as site surveys prior to launch. Whether for a single location or 2,000, Sky Retail's team is capable of handling retail rollouts and remodels of any scale.
