About Phyllis Rubin:

Ms. Rubin spent the first 31 years of her career as an elementary Physical Education teacher in the Hicksville, Long Island school district. Upon her retirement from teaching she began her second career as a Health Coach/Personal Trainer/Medical Exercise Specialist. She has always wanted to help others improve their health through knowledge and activity. A great believer in the mind-body connection, she has been practicing Transcendental Meditation for 30 plus years. As a lifelong learner she has added licenses to teach Zumba and Zumba Gold to her accomplishments in 2016. At the beginning of her second career she learned skills to teach older age adults by becoming certified as a Health Coach and Personal Trainer with the American Council on Exercise (ACE). Wanting to expand her knowledge of medical and orthopedic conditions effecting older age adults she became certified as a Medical Exercise Specialist with the American Alliance of Health and Fitness Rehab Professionals.
