Judith Iris Quate will be featured in an upcoming edition of Women of Distinction Magazine's Top 2016 edition.

WARRINGTON, PA, December 25, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Judith Iris Quate, Owner, Artist, Author, and Public Speaker of ScrapperJude Designs, has been recognized as a Distinguished Professional in her field through Women of Distinction Magazine. Judith Iris Quate will be featured in an upcoming edition of Women of Distinction Magazine's Top 2016 edition.

Forming ScrapperJude Designs in 2010 by writing her first memoir to honor her son's life, Judith Iris Quate had hoped to bring to light the many wonderful years she had shared with him. She later creating mixed media inspiration art and began sharing her creative quotes with others to inspire them to take on the many challenges of life in stride. Selling her artwork at fall craft shows locally as well, she uses the opportunity to not only sell her items, but, more importantly, she gains much success because the craft shows always result in Quate chatting with other crafters and customers who also have a child with disabilities or knows someone who does, making for great conversation and a sense of comradery.

"My twin sons were born premature in 1979. My one son, Jason, suffered from a hemorrhage in his brain that resulted in spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy, while my other son, Michael, had slight brain damage from lack of oxygen," Quate explained. Jason passed away at just 28-years-old."

Through her business, ScrapperJude Designs, Quate shares her life experience through her art creating a sense of healing for others who are experiencing their own challenges.

"I hope to send a message through speaking engagements, workshops, and the media to teach art as a source of healing related to discrimination and disability awareness," Quate said. "I am passionate and creative and believe art, in every form, is a great source of healing. I will soon be certified to teach Zentangle art, which is a creative form, using tangles to increase focus and creativity, providing artistic satisfaction along with an increased sense of personal well-being."

Today, Quate is active with The Women's Business Forum where she serves as Treasurer. The organization meets once per month. Currently in contact with The Skills of Central Pennsylvania, whom cared for Jason for 20 years, Quate hopes to work with them in the future to facilitate art workshops with their clients.

"It is my hope to soon build my business, spreading the use of creativity with art as a source of healing ones' heart and soul, focusing my attention on the intellectually, physically, and emotionally impaired community," Quate added.

Taking eight years off to raise her twins, Quate went back to work in 1987 after her son Jason was placed in a special home for severely physically challenged children. She began working for the Department of Justice, remaining in position for 22 years before retiring at age 60.
