MILTON, MA, December 30, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Delphi Academy of Boston hosts students from all walks of life and cultures. Because of this, the school recognizes and teaches about the may holidays celebrated in December.
This year, the students learned about the story of the Maccabees, the culture and traditional values of African Americans, the celebration of St. Lucia, about the cultural celebration of Christmas around the world, and how each culture rings in the new year. Students also made menorahs, played dreidel, make kinaras for Kwanzaa, made crowns of paper candles, and made gifts for the parents.
Because Delphi Academy of Boston is multicultural, the school takes pride in teaching students about the holidays both academically and through crafting and demonstration. In this spirit, the school hosted a holiday show on the last day before winter break. Additionally, students and teachers alike helped to collect food, gently worn coats, and new pajamas for local children. Not only are Delphi students being taught about other cultures, they are actively displaying their kindness and compassion to others.
