EASTON RAPIDS, MI, January 06, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Hiawatha Lovell Cromer, Director of The Assembly of Yahweh Wellness Center, has been recognized as a Distinguished Professional in her field through Women of Distinction Magazine. Hiawatha Lovell Cromer will soon be featured in an upcoming edition of the Women of Distinction Magazine.
After earning her BA in 1952, followed by her MS in Social Work in 1970, and spending 27 years in the social work, from serving as Social Worker for Aid to Dependent Children, a Case Work Supervisor, and finally as a Social Worker Administrator until making the decision to retire in 1986, Hiawatha Lovell Cromer began taking a real interest in pursuing a career in health and wellness, something she's been very inspired and passionate about for years.
"I became particularly interested in alternative health practices," Cromer said. "I became active with the Creative Health Institute by participating in the Living Foods Lifestyle Program, which was developed by the late Dr. Ann Wigmore. Everything really began to fall into place after that. I took on an internship through the Institute and three months later I was offered the position of Director, which I eagerly accepted. After seven years in that role, I made the transition to work for The Assembly of Yahweh as their Director when they formed their wellness center. It's been a blessing ever since."
Cromer lost her daughter to leukemia in 1976. Her strength to live on has everything to do with how she lives her life today by coaching others to follow a healthier lifestyle. As Director of the facility, Cromer oversees program management and marketing, and teaches the Raw Food Lifestyle with the assistance of the Board of Directors. She also does consultations for members and individuals within the community in regard to the many benefits of living on a plant-based diet. Additionally, she is able to provide free services in her spare time to groups and individuals, which is subsidized through The Assembly of Yahweh.
In 2012, Cromer wrote and published a book, entitled 'Eating Raw, Living Well'. The book promotes the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle by incorporating energy-giving nourishment that creates all-around good health, boosts self-confidence, and provides a keen sense of life responsibility and self-respect.
Cromer earned her BA at Miles College and her Master of Social Work at Wayne State University. She is well-known as a Health Minister with Hallelujah Acres and a Laughter Therapist with World Laughter Tour. She is also an Advisor for Devoted 2 Healing in Gary, Indiana, where she provides consultations to those interested in starting their own healthcare agencies or health-oriented services. She previously served as President of The Negro Business and Professional Women Club in Lansing, Michigan and as President of the Women's Club of Lansing. Cromer is a Life Member of National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.
