The All Ways Up Foundation Announces Support For Six Denver Non-Profits and The 1st Annual Denver Up Through Education Summit

    LOS ANGELES, CA, January 13, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The All Ways Up Foundation (www.allwaysup.org), a national organization that supports low-income college-bound students and their families, has announced over $60,000 in grant awards to six Denver non-profit organizations: Colorado Association of Black Professional Engineers and Scientists, Denver Kids, Inc., Denver Urban Scholars, Minds Matter Denver, The Bridge Project, and YESS Institute. The students who participate in the programs offered by these organizations are now eligible to apply to the Foundation's college scholarship program and attend its first annual Denver UP Through Education Summit. The Summit will be a one-day retreat designed to assist low-income, first-generation students make a successful transition into and through college. Many underserved students struggle with gaps in their education that can act as barriers to succeeding in college. Instead of focusing solely on academic achievement, the UP Through Education Summit empowers students to take control of their own success. During the Summit, the students will engage in a variety of activities and workshops that focus on building the skills they need to be successful in college. Fifty students will be invited to attend the Summit, which will take place on Saturday, June 3 on the University of Denver campus. In addition to the Denver Summit, the Foundation will hold two Summits in Los Angeles to provide support to a total of 170 new scholars.

The students attending the Summits will each receive $2,500 scholarships that are renewable annually while they are enrolled in college. Students may use their scholarship award to help with college related expenses not covered by financial aid. To date, the All Ways Up Foundation has awarded over $1.5 million in scholarships to more than 250 students. "We are excited to be partnering with so many great organizations in Denver and to expand our scholarship program to serve an additional 50 motivated students. Our goal over the next few years is to continue to expand the program to serve 1,000 students each year, with over $2 million of annual support," said Greg Perlman, founder and President of the Board of Directors of the All Ways Up Foundation.
