WILMINGTON, NC, January 20, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Out-of-place artifacts fascinate us by presenting an impossible scenario.
Just last week the internet was abuzz over an 800 year-old mobile phone with cuneiform writing on the touch pad, discovered by archaeologists in the Salzburg district of Austria. A photograph in an article by Jon Austin published in the UK last week by The Express presents us with yet another out-of-place artifact that is as interesting as it is mystifying.
Whether the mobile phone proves to be authentic or a hoax, there are many other instances where artifacts of a more technological time were found in ancient scenarios. Rene Noorbergen offers multiple examples of ooparts in his book Secrets of the Lost Races. Are they all hoaxes? Or is their presence a message from the past to the future, a sign of time travel, or evidence of ancient technology?
"In 'The Rosetta Coin', the first adventure novel in my two-part series, a unique coin bearing unearthly symbols is discovered in an unlikely location near the Great Pyramid," Lyons stated. "Because no one could place the language written on the coin, it was shut away until a bold archaeologist finds another person possessing a similar coin with the same writing.
"In regards to writing paranormal fiction, the impossible scenario is exactly where I want to send my characters. It's in the impossible-this-cannot-be situation that characters face something beyond what they are prepared for. The more severe the scenario, the farther that character has to reach to survive and grow--completing their arc. This makes the ride all the more thrilling for the reader who is there facing the impossible scenario with the character."
