"Everyone knows real jobs won't be just given back to America. So some of us small businesses are going to have to rise up and take them."
LAKEWOOD, CO, January 24, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Denver Outfitters is a company that specializes in products for sports and the outdoors. Denver Outfitters was launched just two years ago by seven friends who had lost their jobs, were broke, and homeless. With a few kids in tow, they moved into an empty warehouse that had once held a dog daycare and set out on building a business while rebuilding their lives.
From those humble (and fairly embarrassing) beginnings two years ago, they successfully built a small business that has grown incredibly fast and been able to provide jobs for themselves and many others. Denver Outfitters' founders have also spent a great deal of time and money buying equipment to be used in their DreamLab Now project launching at the end of 2017. This project is to help assist our youth and young adults learn how to invent and bring products to market.
This week, Denver Outfitters launched a Go Fund Me that they believe will help them provide many more jobs here in America. They are attempting to raise $2.5 million to buy all the equipment needed to bring manufacturing back from overseas, and all the jobs that come with it.
With big businesses getting tax breaks to stop them from shipping jobs overseas, Denver Outfitters is a small business attempting to actually bring jobs back. Small businesses make up 99.7% of all companies that employ people in the U.S. Despite that, there's little to no government help for small growing businesses to get their manufacturing back in the States.
Denver Outfitters inherited a model of outsourcing when they bought the company two years ago and rebranded and rebuilt it. From day one, all seven founders were on a mission to bring every part of their company back to the U.S. Denver Outfitters' leaders knew the government wasn't going to provide them help as it does for big corporations threatening to leave. And so they decided they'd go directly to those who pay for our government to ask for a little assistance in getting jobs back here. Melissa Estepp, CFO for Denver Outfitters and a founding partner stated, "Everyone knows real jobs won't be just given back to America. So some of us small businesses are going to have to rise up and take them. We've decided to step into the role of Job Pirates and hope other people will as well."
