NOVATO, CA, January 29, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Buffy Stewart, Singer, Songwriter, Performer, Writer, Poet, and Owner of Almost Heaven Productions, has been recognized as a Distinguished Professional in her field through Women of Distinction Magazine. Buffy Stewart will be featured in an upcoming edition of Women of Distinction Magazine's Top 10 of 2016 edition.
A musical performer since she was 10-years-old, Buffy Stewart first performed in the Sacramento Music Circus. Leading a very impressive lifestyle in the business after first receiving a scholarship to attend the Eugene Loring Dance School in Los Angeles, California, she lived at the Hollywood Studio Club. While there, she auditioned for the Young Americans and toured the entire United States with Johnny Mathis before dancing with the Viva le Girls. One day, while performing in a musical review, Stewart was introduced to John Stewart who, at the time, was leaving The Kingston Trio as one of their original group members and was looking for a female singer to sing with. Not only did the two hit it off professionally and begin singing together, but they fell in love, married, and had a son, Luke.
"Our first album, 'Signals Thru The Glass' has since become a classic," Stewart said. "It received great reviews and I am so proud of that album. 'Signals Thru The Looking Glass' was inspired by the paintings of the late and great legendary artist, Andrew Wyeth. His son, James Wyeth, an artist in his own right, gave tribute to our work on the album cover. The two then went on tour and recorded many other albums."
Stewart has more recently recorded three solo albums: 'Same Old Heart'; 'Angel Rain'; and 'Once Upon a Time', which is due out in January 2017. Many of the songs on her albums were either written by her or by her late husband. In addition, she also recorded 'Hearts Together' with Nirmala Heriza. Still performing on both the East and West coasts of the country, Marin is where Stewart calls home. Currently serving as a Vocal and Drama Coach for many professionals in the field, she also loves to write poetry in her down time.
Recently, Stewart authored her first children's book, which she plans to release early in the new year. She is also writing her autobiography. Active with numerous organizations, she is a member of the Grammys, Actors Community Theater, American Federation of Musicians, and American Federation of Actors.
