CHICAGO, IL, February 03, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Each day, school cafeterias across America become more and more like mini healthcare centers, where students inject insulin into their arms, thighs or other areas of their bodies because they suffer day in and day out from diabetes. In the United States, 33 percent of children are overweight or obese. Illinois alone is one of the top ten states for obese/overweight adolescents, aged 10-17. How can such alarming numbers be reduced and ultimately inhibit children from writhing in agony for the remainder of their lives?
Dr. William A. Martin--CEO of Srewolf & Nitram Foundation HEARTS (a nonprofit organization providing free services to low-income families)--will be featured live on CAN-TV's Chicago Counterpoint TV (Ch. 21) on Monday, Feb. 6, 2017, at 7:30 p.m. CST. Hosted by renowned Fathers' Rights attorney Jeffery M. Leving, Chicago Counterpoint TV provides crucial legal education to single dads, men in divorce and family law attorneys. Martin and Leving will discuss how single and divorced fathers can prevent their children from overindulging in sugary drinks and help them make one vital choice: to live long, healthy lives.
As an ardent advocate for children's health, Martin understands the deep sorrow in losing loved ones from diabetes, cancer and other health issues related to obesity and being overweight, and will share insight on how Illinois is taking steps in eliminating diseases related to sugary drink consumption. With increased awareness, single and divorced fathers can protect their children and encourage happier and healthier lifestyles. No child should ever be a victim of careless dieting.

The Fatherhood Educational Institute (FEI) program has several layers:
The Mission
a) Introduce indigent and incarcerated fathers regarding fatherhood through the use of clinical and related educational tools; and
b) To promote fatherhood in poverty stricken neighborhoods and in the general public through events and any other means of educating the public on the importance of patriarchal involvement in children's lives.
Our Leadership
We are here to help fathers. We do not hold lavish dinners and expensive 'fundraisers' to pay for our staff, marketing or expenses.
Incarcerated Fathers Project
This is a pilot program designed to empower incarcerated fathers to assume responsibility for their children both during and after release from prison.
Fatherhood Support
Featuring engaging talks, panel discussions and information sessions, attendees are educated as to services available to fathers, and programs to support their involvement in their children's lives.
