As New Yorkers from Queens, the most diverse community in the country, the current tone set by the current administration is not in line with the reality of our city. New York is the city of inclusion and diversity and the home of Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. With this benefit, The Aurora Gallery will to showcase the various cultures that make the city great and highlight the amazing work these organizations are doing to ensure the rights of all people.
As, Brandon V Dixon, event keynote speaker and Hamilton star stated to Vice President Pence, "We are the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us, our planet, our children, our parents, or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights." He went on to say "We hope this show (Hamilton) has inspired you to uphold our American values, and work on behalf of ALL of us"
With that sentiment as the underlying theme to the event - This is Our New York will espouse these American Values. Members of the press are encouraged to attend and cover the event on February 20th. Doors open at 6pm. The event will offer, cocktail and light hors d'oeuvres. For more information about This Is Our New York - visit www.theaurroagallery.com or call 347-288-6870.
