CHARLOTTE, NC, February 11, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kenny Woods, industrial application engineer from Getzner, will be speaking at Foam Expo in Novi, Mich., on March 1 at 3:30 p.m. As the leader in vibration mitigation materials for construction, industrial and railway applications, Getzner possesses more than 45 years of experience using polyurethane to reduce vibrations caused by a multitude of external forces, from air conditioning systems, motors and heat pumps to highways and railways. The related, negative effect of these vibrations is noise, which is unwanted in many scenarios. In Mr. Woods' presentation, he will explain how polyurethane foam was effective in mitigating vibration, and subsequent noise, through a case study example of a bothersome elevator motor in Florida.
Presentation Overview
Penthouse apartments and condominiums are the most desirable locations in most buildings yet building equipment placed on the roof can cause structure-borne vibration, which can lead to secondary air-borne noise (and unhappy residents). Residents of Venetian Isle condominiums in Miami, Fla., began complaining about the elevator motor noise inside their residences. Getzner created a solution that decoupled the motor from the building structure, eliminating the noise issue.
