ST. LOUIS, MO, February 11, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jim Lyonfields, cofounder of Talent Assessment & Development (TAD), retired from the company in the spring of 2015 after overseeing a lengthy succession planning process. The company had known about Lyonfields' retirement for years due to a diagnosis of Huntington's Disease and were able to prepare for his departure at a leisurely pace.
"In preparation for Jim's retirement, we decided to back him out of the business slowly for several years," said Shawna Lyonfields, cofounder and CEO of TAD. Concurrently, the company underwent a lengthy succession planning process and hired several employees and consultants who could take over Lyonfields' responsibilities.
The consultants TAD hired trained directly under the guidance of Lyonfields and incrementally took over his responsibilities. The transition concluded a year ago with the official announcement of Lynn Sgouros as TAD's CDO and HR Business Partner and Caitlin Breuer as TAD's Senior HR Consultant.
TAD's 200+ clients responded well to the five new additions to the company and offered their support. TAD continues to flourish and is looking to add two additional employees in the next six months.
In his retirement, Lyonfields has become increasingly involved in the local community, putting his time and energy into philanthropic efforts including Locks of Love, the Red Cross, and various environmental sustainability causes and socioracial movements.
TAD has continued to grow after the retirement of Lyonfields and will soon release major product enhancements to improve the employee development and candidate selection process for their clients. TAD has also focused on transforming and growing their business infrastructure to keep up with their 50 percent growth in the past two years.
"Our ability to grow even after Jim's retirement is a testament to companies everywhere that succession planning really works," Lyonfields continued. "We are thankful to have had the opportunity for Jim to fulfill his dream and gracefully exit over time, and we are thankful for our clients' continuous support."
